Whether you're a budding Olympian or Paralympian, a talented overall sports person or simply interested in improving your athletic performance, the Woodcote Athletics Academy might just be for you. Designed to wrap your developmental sports training around A level or vocational post 16 study, you'll have access to:
- Strength & conditioning programmes
- Core stability programmes
- Sport rehabilitation
- Balletic movement training.
All programmes are developed with existing coaching programmes, designed to compliment and enhance your training. Our aim is to build a positive working relationship with your coach so you thrive in our environment and reach your athletic goals.
Run by specialist coaches with expertise and experience in every aspect of our training programmes, you'll enjoy working with PE teachers and gym instructors with high level competition experience, strong desire to achieve and a real infectious passion for athletics.
Our approach mirrors the training structures appropriate for 16, 17 & 18 year old elite athletes.
Disability access for all and if you're a disabled athlete then we have some of the best infrastructure and experience that you're likely to come across in a school environment. From an enhanced learning unit to a fully accessible site and specialist trained teaching assistants on hand, we have the ability to enrol a significant number of disabled athletes.
Training on site in the Academy will take place after your normal school day - from 3-4.30pm, five days a week - saving you time travelling to another location. Training cycles are developed around your individual goals whether that is for your next Club match or English Schools Championship or beyond. In fact the training schedule is so specific to each athletes' needs that if you have a planned training session with your existing club on certain evenings then your training with us on those days will deliberately be light.
You'll take advantage of a state of the art facilities including:
A flood lit eight lane athletics track (built in 2013 - See images) Fitness suite, and Sports Halls for indoor training.
