A Level Results 2017

17th August 2017

Students and staff at Woodcote High School were today celebrating another year of excellent results at A-level. The new A-level reforms this year have made achieving the best grades more difficult than ever. However, our results this year have further consolidated our position as one of the highest achieving schools and colleges in the area in terms of student performance at A-level, with a 100% pass rate and 43% of grades at A*-B.

There were many outstanding individual results. For example, Jack Smith achieved 2 A* and 2 A grades which will enable him to pursue his passion for film making at University. Sarena Shah achieved three A grades and will now be going to university to study Architecture.

We are delighted with the achievement of our students this year, some of whom have overcome personal difficulties along the way. With the help of the sixth form team many of our students have gained commendable grades, thereby giving them access to places at the best universities.

Headteacher, Mark Southworth said:

“Our students have admirably risen to the challenge of the new A level specifications which are much harder than in previous years. The bar has been raised, but Woodcote students, with the help of our superb staff have cleared it with ease.”
